SUSTAINABLE VENTURES

By royal appointment: Helping Europe’s leading climate tech hub host the Prince of Wales

BRIEF

Days after we started working with Sustainable Ventures, we learned the Prince of Wales was visiting its workspace in 72 hours’ time. Aside from that engagement, we were separately briefed to highlight Sustainable Ventures’ national expansion, showcase its workspace and celebrate its significant achievements in building a climate tech community.

APPROACH

We quickly put together a PR plan and photography brief for the royal visit - ensuring that the high-profile visit reflected Sustainable Ventures in the best light. Once the visit was finished, we focused on generating proactive PR. We drafted and distributed press releases within days, worked with the team to find the most newsworthy projects and spokespeople and connect them with media, and continually organise journalist meets.

RESULTS

We’ve landed coverage in top-tier publications and have set them up for success. From The Times to Forbes, Startups Magazine to South London Press, Sifted to the Financial Times… We have placed Sustainable Ventures in front of all their potential stakeholders.

  • The royal event went as planned, and we landed coverage in nine nationals - such as the Mail Online, Evening Standard and The Daily Telegraph - and a multitude of other publications

  • City AM covered the online exclusive of Sustainable Ventures’ first round of external investment, and Andrew Wordswsorth, Managing Partner, was interviewed on the prime time business slot on Sky News - Business Live with Ian King

  • Tips from Fran Fish, Head of People and Culture, were featured in The Times on how to get into the world of climate tech

  • We landed an in-depth Forbes article detailing Sustainable Ventures’ mission and the workspace, including interviews with startup case studies

  • Sustainable Ventures’ partnership with Lambeth Council was a key priority - we landed coverage in key target publications like the Evening Standard, South London Press and Big Issue

  • Print and online coverage in the Financial Times showcasing Sustainable Ventures and one other company - Octopus Energy - as examples of how UK climate tech has continued to boom despite the government  weakening net zero policies

“Harpswood were ambitious in their ideas for our launch and delivered them brilliantly. They worked with us to get our messaging right, came up with the concept for a launch video and crucially secured a double page spread in a national newspaper”
