Supporting Octopus Energy at Smarter E, Europe’s largest energy event

Harpswood supported Octopus Energy Germany to attend Smarter E 2024 in Munich, one of Europe’s largest events for the energy sector. 

Smarter E marks a major date in the calendar for any European energy professional. Hosted by Europe’s largest trade alliance for the sector, the event brings together businesses, media and professionals from across the industry - from energy management to renewables to batteries and storage. 

Octopus Energy Germany’s CEO Bastian Gierull was there to deliver a keynote presentation about the potential of smart tariffs to accelerate Germany’s clean energy transition. 

The scale of the event is impressive with thousands of exhibitors, journalists, and professionals rushing between meetings, interviews, and press conferences. While trade shows can help business leaders to showcase their innovations, network with industry leaders and increase their visibility, standing out amidst the noise can be a challenge.

Our team at Harpswood is known for thinking outside the box for our clients. At Smarter E, our Munich office lead Christina worked closely with the Octopus Energy team to help Bastian prepare his keynote, ensuring the messaging was well informed and crafted to land with impact. 

We also used the event as an opportunity to arrange meetings for Octopus Energy’s senior leadership with a number of innovation leaders, CEOs and journalists - including a joint interview for Bastian and Octopus Energy Group’s Head of Flexibility Alex Schoch with ZfK, one of Germany’s most influential energy industry publications.
