Allez á Paris! Our away trip in the City of Lights

After our first team summer trip to Margate in 2021, venturing further afield post lockdown restrictions felt momentous.

In June 2022, seven of us boarded the Eurostar to Paris for a team trip to the City of Lights.

We were lucky enough to have two of our own local tour guides in the team - Grace, who speaks fluent French, and Danielle, who lived in Paris for two years. Our resident Francophiles helped ensure the trip went off without a hitch, from booking the best restaurants to delivering ad-hoc language lessons to help us all communicate flawlessly (ahem) throughout our stay. 

A boutique hotel in Le Marais was our home for the weekend. We’d booked a meeting room to host our morning brainstorms and were delighted to find it came complete with a snack bar, terrace overlooking the city’s iconic rooftops and a rooftop pool — a welcome surprise considering the 40-degree heatwave we found ourselves in.

Throughout the day we ran a series of workshops and presentations where we mapped our focus for the next 12 months. After a day fuelled on iced coffees, it was back to our rooms to get ready for a night on the town.  

A team dinner right on the banks of the Seine set the stage for a night out with incredible food and wine, live music and a lot of laughs. Some of us stayed through Saturday, gathering at a jazz bar after a day of exploring to wrap up an unforgettable weekend.
